Midterms

I've had a lot of midterms but honestly, I don't think I've ever had a perfect midterm grades. I know shocking. But it is one hundred percent true. I've always had an A- or B+ somewhere on my midterm report card. It gets frustrating when your mother says "Why are these not A's?" and your answer is I just did not do so well on this test and boom A-! My mom glares at me and tells me to do better. Some times I think she says "or else" but I can't be sure. She’s very good at hiding those kinds of threats. How where your midterms, guys?

Orchestra

I like Orchestra for a number of reasons:

  1. Teaches you how to read music

  2. Let's you spend time with your friends

  3. Teaches you how to multitask

  4. Helps you gain knowledge of all kinds of music

  5. Let's you learn a lot about four different instruments.

  6. The four instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass.

I play the violin. The violin is the smallest instrument in the Orchestra. It is also the highest in pitch. Over half the orchestra is made of people who play the violin. Because so many people play the violin they had to split them into two sections 1st violins and 2nd violins. Its strings are (from bottom to top) G, D, A, and E. All notes are in the treble clef.

The viola is another instrument in the Orchestra. It is a bit bigger than the violin. It also has a lower pitch. But is for the most part played like a violin. Its strings are (from top to bottom) A, D, G, and C. All notes are in the tenor clef.

My sister plays the cello. The cello is the only instrument in the Orchestra that you must sit down to play. Its strings are (from top to bottom) A, D, G, and D. All notes are in the bass clef.

The Bass is used in both Orchestra and Jazz bands. It is the biggest instrument in the entire Orchestra. Its strings are (from top to bottom) E, A, D, and G. All of its notes are (get this) in the bass clef. :D

Each one of these instruments is essential for an orchestra to be an orchestra. With out one or the other an orchestra does not quite complete it's self. With out the violins you loose the melody. Without the violas you loose "altos". With out the cello you loose the "tenors". With out the Bass you loose the bass, the deep metronome.

All instruments together make beautiful music, a harmony, a melody, a song. Anyone can learn to play one of these instruments. And I mean anyone. Yes that's you who just so happens to have given me a portion of time from your busy lives and read this blog of just thrown out there thoughts. Anyone can learn anything they put their minds to. That is why I love Orchestra.

Finished!

I finished the Count of Monte Cristo on Monday but have been to happy to write anything. But I just wanted to let you know that since I said that I wouldn't have it done until tomorrow.

Younger Siblings

Don't you just love your younger siblings? I do. Things they do to make me love them are:

- tell mom that it was my fault when it was really theirs
- complain that I have been on the computer way to long doing things unrelated to school, when I have only been on the computer for five minutes doing school related things. (Like this blog).
- read over you shoulder what you are doing
- you do something for them that one time and then they turn around and get you grounded

Don't you just love younger siblings?

P.S. About the loving thing that's sarcastic. :)

Blog Post #7

Ok so there is physically no way that I could possibly finish the Count of Monte Cristo. It has proved to be more of a challenge than all the elementary books my sister brings home for me to read. (Mom wants me to read all of the books she reads so that her mind won’t become “perverted” or what not). So I might (emphasis on the might) be able to complete the Count of Monte Cristo by Thursday since I am (little happy dance) a little over half way done with the book.

Second Person Point of View

Have you ever wondered why there are almost no books written in second person point of view? I will tell you why right now. It is because people aren’t creative. If you wanted to write a book in second person it would be very easy because you could simply name your book something like Imagine You Were Me or something like that. You could start your story saying “If you were me this is how your life would be” or something like that. It could be an autobiography put in second person or it could be a biography in second person.

If it were to be an autobiography you could think of it as a journal made a lot more fun. For instance if with a normal journal you would right “Today was boring,” you might instead in your Imagine You Were Me book you could write “This morning your dad told you that you have to mow the lawn when you get home. Then your geography teacher couldn’t be quiet about something somewhere in the Pacific Ocean and just give you and the rest of your classmates, what ever form of pain she planed on giving us for homework. Etc.

If it was to be a biography you could do it on some dead important person like some king who ruled France three hundred years ago. Or something like that.

See people just need to use their imaginations every once and a while and you can come up with the coolest things.

Life

What is life? Life is as it's spelled.

L is for love.
I is for icky.
F is for fun.
E is for entertainment.

The Count of Monte Cristo

I'm on page 97 that's chapter XVI or I think 16 (tell me if I'm wrong) and so far this book has been very interesting. I was so glad when I had finally read like 70 pages cause that's when I finally could figure out why Edmond was in prison (other than that's what the author wanted). I plan on having this book done or almost complete by Monday (if I'm lucky). :D

500 Words

The instructions say to write at least 500 words a week. So here's a start. So if were going to be typing over 500 words a week how do we know how many word we still have to write. Or in other words does this have a word count? Anybody know?
